Zelda Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case Unboxing: Design and First Impressions

Athmaus · October 31, 2026

The Zelda anniversary console isn’t the only box I opened. Here’s my Zelda Switch 2 carrying case unboxing, with a look at the packaging, gold artwork, interior, and the console sitting inside. If you want to see the case beyond its store photos, the original clip is linked below.

Opening the matching case

The case comes in a narrow box with a red Nintendo Switch 2 strip at the top, a picture of the case on the front, and the 40th anniversary badge. I open the end of the box and slide out the wrapped case before removing its white protective sleeve.

Nintendo’s full product name is Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case & Screen Protector, The Legend of Zelda, 40th Anniversary Edition. The official product listing confirms the included screen protector. This video concentrates on the case; I don’t demonstrate fitting the protector.

Black exterior, gold Zelda artwork

Once the sleeve is off, I turn the case toward the camera. The black exterior has a large gold triangular Zelda design, with smaller symbols and linework inside the triangles. I move it close enough for you to see more than the overall silhouette.

The footage shows the gold design from different angles as I handle the case. The dark background gives the artwork plenty of contrast. That close-up is the main visual detail to check if you’re deciding whether the anniversary styling is for you.

A look inside

I unzip the case and open it to show the dark interior. There’s a central flap, a mesh section, and a row of small gold Zelda symbols across the interior panel. I lift the flap so you can see how the inside is arranged, rather than leaving it hidden behind the exterior artwork.

The clip gives a quick look at those sections, but I don’t fill the storage areas with games or accessories. I’m not assigning a storage capacity or claiming it will hold a particular travel setup based on this short opening.

How the Switch 2 fits

I place the console inside with the green Joy-Con 2 controllers attached. You can see the system sitting in the lower half of the case, with the flap positioned across it. That makes the video useful for checking the basic arrangement with the actual anniversary console.

This is an initial fit demonstration. I haven’t shown a drop test, packed-bag test, or long-term wear, so I’m keeping this first look focused on the design and layout.

Quick questions

Does it come with a screen protector? Yes, according to Nintendo’s official listing. Installation is not demonstrated here.

Do I show the console inside? Yes. The video shows the Switch 2 resting inside with its green controllers attached.

For the other half of this set, watch and read my Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 unboxing. That covers the console packaging, green controllers, and first setup screens.

The first look, together

The two videos put the console and matching case side by side as separate unboxings. The case clip is the place to see its gold artwork, interior flap, and basic fit. For more things I’ve opened and tried, head back to the Reviews directory.
